Petal City's Hetheru Forest is host to a number of 'other folk' who regularly evade the danger of capture in the magikal nets of rogues and attack by animals possessed by rogue-manufactured furies designed to cloud the mind.
Orimyr, in particular, find themselves at highest risk due to the enduring quality of their magik which the rogue magicians find useful in their spell work. To this end, a special council came to be formed to counter the threat of rogue capture, and warding stones can be formulated to provide additional protections to orimyr and other folk, like pixets, who have to travel in high-risk areas without adequate protections for a tim
Some mer, who vary in type, have a tolerate/hate relationship with the rogues, and many have compromised themselves with the aid of mind-clouding flowers administered by the rogues' consigned doctor. The flowers help the mer who accept them to adjust to life in 'The Tanks,' but so many tanks have been seized and dismantled by the Guarding Circle of Orimyr, Pixets, and other folk that few still exist, creating a need for debased rogue clients that eventually fuels the creation of a gallery of varied other folk whom the rogues go on to collect with greater hunger.
The changes taking place in rogue physiology are also a serious concern to the fiends, and they go on to take an even greater interest in capturing more orimyr for protection and reversal spells cast wholly in vein.
